@Meat Grinder, among others,

I am heading down to Huntsville Alabama to visit my brother this long weekend and on Monday will be plunging in to rural Tennessee to catch the total eclipse of the sun (song title somewhere?)
We're heading in to a small town called Sparta.
The total eclipse is a 70 mile wide swath across the U.S.
The eclipse will last 2 hours but totality, when it goes dark as night, will last 2 1/2 minutes.
Anyway, I know there are people flocking in from all over so I was wondering if anyone was going to Tennessee?

No, I drive about 20 miles north and I am in the totality. Me and about million other folks in Kansas City

Yep. We procrastinated and now it looks like every hotel/motel in the State of Tennessee is booked.
The plan right now is to drive to a farm road near Sparta pull over, open the cooler, and consume mass quantities. :)

I have a friend at work is flying out to Nebraska and another heading down to Charleston South Carolina.

That's a work day for me. :-( Trying to con one of my coworkers into switching days. I doubt he'll fall for it. Never hurts to ask.

I'd love to see the celestial clock in motion in this way, I hope everyone who does sees it will pause to reflect the bigger picture of our place in the universe and on this planet, our only home.

Observed 5 seconds of totality at my posit 17 miles south of the totality zone. Observed No birds dropping out of the sky, heard no cocks crowing, saw no human sacrifice, saw no hot naked Druid women doing a fertility dance. Such is the pity....
