OOB is in the process. But please be patient. A project like this takes some time to get it rolling (at least in my experience with monster QBs). We will be playing this one a long long time and some days more or less won`t hurt but will minimize errors and wrong decisions right before the game has even started.

Apologies. Just saw the words I typed before. Fighting with Excel at the same time for Bootie in creating the new FGM ladders so a bit of rage on this side. No rush, but just FYI can't go much further until you guys hit the 'checkout' for OOB purchasing. I just need Day 1's worth of purchasing locked up to get started. For sure, think about Day 2 and 3 but you may want to see how the first day of fighting develops before committing those later purchases.

Rarity was dropped after some initial testing last week. You guys wouldn't have been able to take much at all if we kept it in as originally intended. The Game Master is now the rarity checker, so nothing too unrealistic like multiple battalions of IS-2's. :)

If memory serves me correct rarity points don't count - teams are just asked to bear in mind what there respective sides would likely to have been fielding at the time of battle and not go mad with the specialised units.

just seen Ithikial's message - that's the second time in 2 days you've given a response while I've been typing my message out.

Roger that! I will mostly concentrate on the Day 1 purchases with Day2 and 3 just somewhere back in my head.
As Dutch is making the German OOB I am sure there will be no problems at all. I know him as quite good informed about OOBs and also likes games close to reality! So now back to purchasing our IS-2 stormbatallion....

I'll start on an OOB for day1 only then. 20k points if I'm correct?
I will create the full 65k OOB and we shall select our day 1 forces from it. This to add the historical flavour to it since the 19.pz div was there also on day 2 and 3.

I will also place all the fortifications on our side of the maps. I will sent these maps by email to you Chad. Otherwise the enemy could have a peak ;)

@Ithikial
Could you tell me what maps I need to use to start adding fortifications?
map 1
map 3
map 5

???

And then the left (west) side of the river is German ground?

You can add fortifications anywhere on the west/left side of the river. Concentrate at the river crossings or in the towns? Heavy concentration up front or a more spread out and in depth approach? What terrain you plan to defend is completely up to you.

Yes, please Dutch, tell us where are you guys going to deploy?

Can`t find an answer to that in the rules. Is there a stacking limit?

And another question as this is not answered yet:
Are we going to use a Core Unit file as explained above and in other postings? I ask because I would like to name all units accordingly and don`t want to do the work when there is another way how you implement units to the actual battles.
So basically, how do you handle setting up the battles? Are you always purchasing the appropriate units in the scenario editor new every single time? Or use a handy Core Unit file where you just have to delte non-active units?

Wow, you are fast as always creating complex OOB. You saved it as a Core Unit file?

Thanks. If you have question just ask. I have some experience with this. I think it is the best way to keep track of the units and get them comfortably to the battlefield. No renaming of units and even the names of the soldiers are consistent from battle to battle. At least to some degree...

How did you handle support units? For example in a Russian Tank Regiment there are 1 Recon and 1 Sapper Platoon. But the smallest Unit Tokens are companies if I understand correctly.

Edit: Core Unit File option is looking good.

So you want a core unit file? This can not be achieved be me because I can't incorporate the German core OOB with the Russian core OOB. This has to be done by the game master ;)
I don't think you want to go trough al that work...
