Hello Good Men (and Women)-
As we are very close to a kick-off within the next few weeks (targeting no later than April 13), I wanted to confirm who wants and can commit to play in the Operation Konrad Campaign.
Sadly, the Campaign can only accommodate 12 players. The folks that previously expressed strong interest / intent to play will be considered first, if they respond to this message. Almost all of them I know or they have the reputation as consistent turn-taking players. Note that even if you expressed interest in the other thread, I need you to repeat that here (see below).
I'm pretty sure we will have more interest than slots. Those that I cannot fit, I will place on a Reserve list. However, once the campaign starts, I'll see what the workload is, and if there are enough interested players, I may run a second "instance" of the campaign. This also allows me to adjust anything if problems come up in the initial run.
When signing up, please keep in mind the following:
1) This campaign will likely last ONE YEAR. (45 days per round x 7 rounds = 315 plus invariable unplanned delays). While real-life events come up and folks may need to drop out for good reasons, please understand the likely scale and length for which you are volunteering.
2) To keep things moving, you need to be able to routinely check your e-mail and this site for updates. As this is a team campaign with a specific thread for each team to discuss strategy and planning, it will be important to regularly participate on the forums.
3) To keep battles progressing, you need to be able to consistently do 5 turns per week. There are a lot of variables that can impact this - real life, opponents in wildly different time zones, computer trouble, etc.. We can deal with all of those issues through good communication and in extreme cases, a willingness to let someone else step in if absolutely needed to finish your game until you are able to come back. BUT: if you can only play on weekends, I would ask that you not sign up; it is rarely possible for matched opponents to "catch up" with weekend-only play.
With that out of the way:
1) Please see the Rules in the Rules Thread for Roles & Responsibilities for all players, as well as for the "special" positions of Team Leaders.
2) Please copy and paste this into a new mail in this chain, and fill out per your preference:

I am interested in being the German Team Leader: Yes / No
I am interested in being the Soviet Team Leader: Yes / No
