Battle Brothers -- bloody addictive game

Went back to one of my saved games and ended up that I took a quest to escort a caravan a long way, ran out of money I. The way and most of my party bailed. So going to restart this again. But the question is how hard is it to negotiate some money upfront to pay your party enroute?

Depends on the client ... some give you a lot of leeway, some none at all. You have to take a chance and see how far you can push them.

Guy turned me down, so I went and did some other things, like a couple of quests, overran an Orc camp, slew some Brigands and some thieves as well. Bought and lost a war dog. I like them and I can see if each spearman had one you could seriously mess with the other side if you "salvoed" 6-8 war dogs at once.

So where is the damn village of Weinberg that is "two days north by road"? It ain't on the map that I could see, I had to go back and cancel the damn contract because I have no clue were it's at...

Ahh shit! I do remember someone talking about that in the videos I have watched on this. How do you actually do it. Move on top of the enemy and hit what? Thanks.
Oh sorry, didn't read this. Yes, you move on top and open the inventory. The weapon should appear on the big grid. I usually do this to fallen heroes and enemies with hard hitting weapons.

Is there a keyboard sequence?
That would be to get your soldier on top of the dead (you see that corpses have a bag with them) and either press the inventory icon or C key by default. You then take the weapon and either equip it or put it in your brother's bag. I think it consumes AP and also has a penalty to fatigue (unless bags and belts perk is active).

It is indeed a very fun game. Just got ambushed during a night caravan escort by 8 goblin wolf riders... I think that after 60 days of play I might be losing the first few brothers

I am averaging losing one guy a battle, have 10 "under contract" at any given time. Need to get two more, an archer and another spearman. Playing pretty conservative, use "shield wall" . Tried spear wall and that tires your guys out big time.

Can I assume a brother can pick up a dropped shield or one that's been knocked out of his hands as well?

Money, or rather the lack of, is certainly one of your biggest enemies in the early and mid game.

Kinda like real life.

+1

Got 12 under contract, figuring out decent tactics, not comfortable, but feel like I have reached a point further along the learning curve
