This is the FOG II version of the King Of The Hill tournament.

Players battle their way to Rome, eliminating opponents along the way, to secure their seat on the imperial throne as CAESAR!

Seeing this is a civil war -- FOG II battles are medium-size Roman vs Roman (for variety, players can chose any time period from early Republic to late Empire -- Byzantines perhaps a little too anachronistic )

Can someone explain what kind of terrain "tracks" represents and how it affects combat?

@mTk I believe it’s just classed as ‘Open Terrain’ and has no effect on combat or manoeuvre.

They do provide river/stream crossing points.

Yes and yes. On a trail is in the clear.
Also, remember that Medium Infantry is disrupted as well when in the woods (but not disrupted in the rough).

I seem to remember that Medium in the woods is “moderately disrupted”, while Heavy Infantry is “severely disrupted.”
