RED needs to assign battle commanders - you guys have 4 battles this round.

We have three attacks on neutral provinces -- who is available to defend those?

@Wellsonian -- you up for handling a second battle?

Do these armies really fit the attacked territories in question?

PERSIS - Urartu (681-585 BC) vs Lydian (687-551 BC): Urartu is roughly Armenia and could maybe work, but Lydian?

PANNONIA - Galatian 280-63 vs Roman 280-220 with Greek allies: Galatian tribe attacked Macedonia and then went to Asia Minor. Romans were never close to Pannonia in third century BC.

Here is my logic, and I stand by it. I searched in vain for Dalmatian armies, but they aren’t in the game. So doing basic research, I felt I could approximate them with Galatians. Dalmatia definitely fought the Romans. To make the game more competitive, I picked slightly earlier Romans.
I just didn’t want to type that out at the time, because I was in a hurry.

Ok, thanks for flavour: sounds fine. More of interest to me since I’ll be defending. :)

Just curious what the link between Urartu/Lydia and Persis was.
I wanted to try something other than Persian or Seleucid. My logic was to pick something Biblical from that general geographic area regardless of the provincial name "Persis". I settled on Urartu and picked Lydia from the game's offered list of historical/geographic opponents.
@Rico, I don't mind offering my opponent a choice from two different match-ups if these are acceptable. Defender can pick which matchup and what side. :2charge:
Urartu 681-585 BC vs Lydian 687-551 BC
- or -
Achaemenid Persian 547 BC (Thymbra) vs Babylonian 626-539 BC

@Rico @kronenblatt Red proposes the battle for Aquitania using the following forces. I will also defend Narbonensus.
