Normandy Tour Day1 - American Airborne

Yes it was a very eerie and momentous feeling of something really destructive the craters ,bunkers ,barbed wire in situ in front of the bunker slots overlooking the approach's.
I will try and visit some more of the inland battle areas next time.

xlgundoclx, Our trip to Omaha and Utah is on the Day 2 thread.
If your pictures are digital why don't you post that sunrise shot.
I'd like to see that one.
Unfortunately they are not digital, this was in 1999 before digital cameras were commonplace. I may take them into work and scan them if my Commanding Officer (aka the wife) gives me the go ahead to take them out of the frames.

My pleasure.
I feel fortunate to have a place to post these experiences to be able to share with friends and family.

Our tour guide email my brothers and I about a new three day tour he has that follow the 1st SS Panzer Corps focusing on the 12SS Division west and south of Caen.
We'll be doing that one in April/May.
Stay tuned for another long winded post :)
