Ha! Where's my medal Cargol?
;)

Glad you like it.

Btw, would it be ok to discuss the last round? I really would like to know how the Allies could have won that last battle.

Imo the only way to win it would be to position the tank so that he sees the forest across the river but is covered from the other side by the buildings. If the player is lucky and eliminates the Stug in the forest, you ONLY need to take out another Stug and some infantry heh.

My Sherman got whacked in the first turn, I did not expect the danger from across the river immediately, the briefing mislead me a bit. Bazooka missed and got killed. Infantry got smashed as well, two Stugs and infantry firing on me was too much. My battle ended before it really began.

Anyway, it seems the only way to win the scenario for the Alied player unfortunately was to either be lucky with the positioning or have knowledge of the scenario and know what's coming. Ah, and the German commander needs to play along :)

When I played it, I immediately moved the M4 to the cover of the buildings so I could cover the woods and support the infantry against the Germans in the buildings.
I won handily, taking out both STGs and forcing the German infantry to surrender with 6 turns left. Only 7 Ranger infantry survived though.

Well, that pretty much the only problem with the scenario. There was really this one and only solution and of course you had to win the duel with at least one Stug (if infantry killed the other one) or two. The problem is if you did anything else, did not cover the woods in the first turn etc. then you were pretty much done for as you probably lost the tank and then it's over. Sort of like you had to guess the scenario creator's intention with no room for mistake :)

I think the size of the scenario also mattered a lot as a single bit of bad luck, one missed tank shot or deflection lost the game for you. In further scenarios like the next one it should not be an issue as bigger scnarios allow for a bit more freedom and don't punish so harshly for not guessing the correct solution immediately.

From the briefing I got the impression that the second Stug would be coming a bit later. So I positioned the M4 against the western one and had my infantry area fire into the houses. I got first shot on the Stug but it glanced off and his first shot got the Sherman. Also the second Stug was there immediately and my infantry was caught in a crossfire. I tried a desperate dash into the houses but everyone was dead in minute 3.
