The 1st FGM Duplicate CMBN Tournament

@Bootie @Facman @Gunner Guys, it´s a shame to me, but RL issues some times are uncontrollable, I changed home recently and the building that Im living are getting a redo and revamp in all web network them Im still without good connection, but it´s not the problem, I still can play with 3G, but now another unexpected problem is getting-me off action. My CM PC simple don´t start, Kaput, any video signal, them I have to fix it to and Im serious busy busy these days, I can fix it in 1 our 2 day but maybe it can last 1 week our 2. Them as it have deadline, I think it´s necessary replacement.

OK fellas, I've had 2 more drop out of this tourney, and frankly I'm ready to throw in the towel on the whole affair. This is my 2nd attempt to run this format in a tournament (1st was at the Blitz) and much as the first, the lack of the ability to commit by some of the participants has brought me to the conclusion that this format is not a workable one.
I am willing to listen, if you guys can see your way to give me some feedback on how we might continue.
 
@Facman if I can fix this computer fast, I mean this week, will continue my games here with double pace, but I agree with you this kind of tournament with thin deadline have good chance to halt with simple personal life problems
 
@Facman - drop outs are not terribly nice but OTOH they are not disturbing the other players much (except when they drop during a game). It skews the results a bit since not everyone could play everyone but for me at last it would matter much.
Problem is when the drop outs unbalance the roster. Then we could not continue. In this case there are two options:
1) move one of the players to the other side. I'd volunteer for that.
2) recruit a replacement and give him the average score of all players on his side (or just the points of whom he replaced)
 
@poesel71 Thanks Bud, that's the exact kind of feedback I'm looking for, as I worry about the players who stick by the tourney and have to suffer for others leaving. Your suggestions seem reasonable, I would like other participants to comment and help me make a decision that considers all aspects.
 
I m with Poesel, Jody.
Both options are reasonable.Dont loose heart and go till the end with the tourney as
the majority of us are having a great time with this tourney.

Keep this tournament going ! The first battle was really amazing and also this second battle is great.
The formula is interesting.
For player exiting ... i agree with @poesel71 second point (give the reserve player the points that the substituted player had in that moment.. or eventually : the mean between this value and the value of the last in classification at that moment.. so he isn't penalized if already at last place, and he hasn't maximum advantage for previously score.. the mean of all values would be a bit more unfair versus the other players of his side)
 
Sure this can go on. Have good news. My cm pc is with a technical, and bad news is that I need change motherboard it's a question of choose something and pay for it. I'm almost back. And when will send turns like mg42

In post no 319 Facman did say I was first reserve, I think, but he hasn't yet asked me to step in to formally replace anyone. Am I Endy's replacement?

Just an update.

Ariete and I are on turn 31 and making good progress. He is thoroughly whipping my ass.....
