What did you learn to Drive in

Well this won't beat those truly old cars but it is a classic for me. Saw it rolling not long ago, very well built car. Had to sell it for I didn't have money to pay the gas... Sometimes it would drink 20 L/100 km in winter...

Hedgehog and Facman: These are really cars to remember! Beautiful! As Sempai said already - they had "character" and were not just "objects of daily use".

I started with this one in 1985 (Ford Fiesta 1,0 L), used car, not very pretty and I didn't even like the colour - but it was "mine"... :)

Later in 1992 I was addicted to this one:

Opel Manta GSI  Always thought I would paint him black (cause I didn't like the colour... *gg!) but never did... I still love it! Should never have sold it....

That´s my first vehicle I drove. Was at the tank driving school. There You can drive tanks for fun. I still think about how the "little" tank drivers reached the pedals for steering. I almost didn´t reach them. :D And I´m a bit about average.

It had only two cylinders but it kept me dry in the rain and was much better then to commute by public transport!

I won't win the contest in prettiest first cars. That is for sure!

 In a Willys Jeep...? You lucky Lucky! ;) In Canada you are allowed to start driving at the age of 16, right? That must have been a dream coming true for every youngster being interested in military!

Even today I would be happy to have an occasion for driving a Willys Jeep...

The Jeep, America's most deadly vehicle...more GIs injured in Jeep accidents than any other vehicle. They were notorious for rolling. Towards the end of their service, just prior to the introduction of the Humvee, they were all outfitted with complete roll cages.

Aha, interesting - didn't know that this vehicle is so dangerous. ... but the Jeep's drivers also had a little bit to do with the accidents, I suppose? ;)
