Hedgehog - I agree totally - however it occurred to me with all the trouble over there imagine what would happen if the hosts failed to make it past the group stage - would the competition survive!

So maybe the Ref got it right for FIFA.
 
Ok 3 games today.

Mexico v Cameroon

I am going to go for a Mexico win here, Cameroon have only won 1 of their last 13 World Cup games and although Mexico havent been that great recently they have showed signs of a mini revival using a new 5-3-2 formation under their new coach.

Spain v Holland

Two great sides. I think both will be happy with a point so am plumping for a draw here. They will cancel each other out although the sting in the tail will be if Holland really want to punish Spain for the final defeat a couple of years ago.

Chile vs Australia

I suspect this will be a win for Chile who are a very attack minded team with 2 main stars... namely Vidal and Sanchez whereas the Socceroos are in a transitional period having gotten rid of the old guard and filling the squad with young players who lack experience on the world stage. Australia have won only 2 of their last 13 WC games so Im afraid this game is Chiles with Sanchez to score.

I haven't decided if I will watch the game against Spain today. I get to excited and nervous. Isn't fun anymore and isn't healthy...
Much easier to watch games in the other groups. I can enjoy the football much better because the result doesn't matter that much to me!
