Did your 2 US troops (?) survive that encounter?
Canadians and yes they did, the platoon took some losses fighting into the village but were well supported by the weapons teams. Their LAVs initially were too busy suppressing a bunch of SPG-9s to provide more direct support. The joy of QBs is an opponent can make the Syrians scarily competent with a few button presses. The small arms fire was heavy but generally went our way thanks to the help of artillery later on.

I wish I had the time to complete an AAR for CM, I made headway on one during the February break, but it's been a busy time since. Enjoy, nevertheless.

A mini tragedy, you guys will love this. My vehicle and tank losses had been extremely low throughout the campaign; on average I would lose one tank or vehicle per mission, not bad all things considered. Things went off the rails here, briefly. I had drawn fire from a Pak gun while doing a personal recce with the ILH/Kim battalion headquarters, and we managed to identify its position and lay into it with artillery. Amazingly, it survived the first barrage despite several direct hits on the fighting positions. So we called in another and, not taking for granted it would die, pushed into the valley in a giant right hook while the arty fell. The majority of the lead element made it into the valley without issue, pushing through some light rifle fire from the Abbey of Cellano. Alas, the fires were slackening just as the last Sherman and lead Stuart recce/kangaroos came forward. The Sherman was brewed up in two shots, with one crewman being left behind (C squadron's commander - sigh...), followed by a kangaroo with a platoon leader (SIGH). The second recce stuart had only been given 'quick' orders so imprudently decided to stop and reverse, giving the Pak time to put a shot into it, too. Luckily this one only suffered a single casaulty but the panicking riflemen inside were utterly useless for a good 20 minutes.

As for the UC behind it? Knocked out almost an hour later...by a sympathetic detonation from the Sherman. Naturally, full casualties in the UC...the Vickers' section leader.

The single most effective anti-tank position of the campaign! Grr!

Nice shots and campaign result!

I played the first mission of the campaign after R2V came out, rather enjoyed it but I never really started on the second mission and it fell of my radar.

I played the first mission of the campaign after R2V came out, rather enjoyed it but I never really started on the second mission and it fell of my radar.

I really enjoyed it, I had to save-scum a few times but nothing extreme. It's difficult but not extremely so, honestly I had the most trouble with the first mission, after that you can very often step on the gas. I was playing through the Tukums campaign as well but I had a geriatric moment (my apologies to the forum) with my onedrive and uh...somehow deleted all my saves! I've decided to take a break from it as a result, but that's next on the list!
 
Filmed this a while ago but only had some time to cut a brief vid together, a co op mission with the usual group in IL-2. Crappy shooting, so shield your eyes if you consider yourself an expert.

 
Nice, are you playing with a VR head set?
No, I play with FacetrackNoIR, which uses my webcam. I believe our #4 uses a VR headset but I would need to ask him.

I'm still tweaking it a bit and at the time of the video had smoothing set to 1, which made it too responsive and very jerky as a result.
