What’s Up With That No. 1

Welcome to the ‘Whats Up with That’ battle pack…

This particular compressed file includes 3 scenarios (all the same with different, weather conditions and time of day)

This will be an ongoing set of battles which will start with CMFB but could expand into other games (FI,BN,RT) if interest is shown.

All battles will be on 480×480 maps or smaller and contain Company to Company (-) in fighting force… Force selection might include some units that you normally won’t find inscenarios or can’t buy in QB because of rarity.

Turn lengths are 45-60 minutes always with a min of 5 min extension…

Each Battle will be released in a format a minimum of 3 ways (4A,4B,4C) based upon weather and troop conditions (this way the end players can see the difference how environment and troop experience plays out in a battle…)

All Battles are H2H

I suggest that ‘Aris’ be your mod man of choice… and check out the new HQS2.5 Soundmod by ‘Waclaw’, it works with all CMx2 (except CMBS)… great stuff…

Please enjoy and I would love to recieve feedback… GOOD, BAD, or UGLY to help improve my end products… 🙂

Thanx

  1. Thanks for creating and sharing this scenario, much appreciated.

Some feedback from our game below (SPOILERS!)…

Our experience playing this H2H was that it was a very one-sided battle with the attacker overwhelming the defender.

  2. I played 1a as the attacker. There were some surprises that were fun but the inclusion of all the mortar tubes made it unbalanced in the attacker’s favor. I found it a bit too easy to come at the town from two directions after plastering the place with a whole bunch of mortar rounds and then just shoot the defenders with my infantry as they displaced under fire. Did you design this under 3.x? – as I am sure has been pointed out ad nauseam, one of the things about the 4.0 engine for the game is that if you’ve got lots of artillery you can really mess up someone’s defenses just by bombarding them until the AI decides its time to run away rather than hunker down. To give the AI defender a chance, really cutting down on the artillery complement would be helpful.
